New Delhi, January 26, 2025 – India celebrated its 76th Republic Day with grandeur, showcasing its rich cultural diversity, military strength, and achievements at the iconic Kartavya Path in the national capital. The event was graced by President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other dignitaries, with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi as the chief guest for the occasion.

The celebration began with the unfurling of the national flag by President Murmu, accompanied by the national anthem and a 21-gun salute. The Kartavya Path, formerly known as Rajpath, was filled with pride and patriotism as contingents from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force marched with precision, followed by vibrant cultural tableaux from various states and Union Territories.

A Grand Display of Military Might and Cultural Heritage
This year's parade showcased India's advanced defense capabilities, featuring weapon systems like the Agni-V missile, indigenous fighter jet Tejas Mk2, and the newly inducted INS Vikrant model. Women's empowerment was highlighted as Captain Anjali Singh led the Air Force contingent, the first woman officer to do so in Republic Day history.

The cultural tableaux depicted the rich traditions and achievements of states like Rajasthan, Kerala, and Assam. From Kerala's famous Theyyam dancers to Punjab's energetic Bhangra performances, the vibrant display encapsulated India's unity in diversity.

Bravery Awards and Heartwarming Moments
The President presented the Ashok Chakra posthumously to Major Arun Sharma for his extraordinary valor during an anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir. The nation applauded as his family accepted the honor.

Children who showcased exceptional bravery in saving lives during disasters were also recognized, inspiring the audience with their courage and determination.

Spectatorship and Innovations
For the first time, drone technology was integrated into the celebrations. A drone show with 1,000 drones lit up the sky, forming images of the national flag, Mahatma Gandhi, and ‘Amrit Kaal’ as India marches toward its 2047 vision.

The event concluded with a breathtaking flypast by the Indian Air Force, where 75 aircraft, including Rafale and Sukhoi jets, soared across the skies in synchronized formations.

As the celebrations ended, the spirit of patriotism lingered in the air, leaving citizens proud and inspired by the nation’s journey and achievements. Republic Day 2025 truly embodied the essence of India’s culture, glory, and bravery.
